This year, at IF:Gathering 2021, we are going to talk about how we do that. The theme of those two days is going to be “Even If.” Even if the worst happens, we won’t lose hope. Come join us as we remember that together. We will break out into 5 different breakout groups durring the conferecne. Please select one of the following breakout groups to join:
1. HOW TO RUIN YOUR LIFE IN YOUR 20’S, Jonathan Pokluda
Jonathan Pokluda talks about 10 pit falls that people choose and how they make life that much harder. This session is geared towards both young adults, with the ambition of helping them avoid these mistakes, and also for anyone who has made choices in the past that they would desire to have healing for. Jesus can help us both live life as he intended and He can also pick up the pieces and make something beautiful out of the messes we can make for ourselves.
2. YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE LIKE HER, Sadie Robertson Huff-
This session focuses on the importance of recognizing that we are beautifully and wonderfully made. We live in a society where we can envy others for who they are and get into a place of comparison and feeling like we don’t measure up. Sadie does a great job of sharing how everything God creates is Good and that means His creation of us is exactly as He meant it to be.
3. HOW TO MAKE DISCIPLES WHEN NO ONE KNOWS WHAT “DISCIPLES” MEAN, Jefferson Bethke
A breakout session on what it means to be a disciple in 2021 and how we can authentically embody the heart of Jesus. Jefferson addresses the question: “If we are not being spiritually formed in the way of Jesus, then who are we being formed into?” Using practical and “doable” suggestions, he leads us to an understanding of how to become more like Jesus in our everyday lives.
4. HERE’S THE THING ABOUT ANXIETY, Dr Anita Phillips
Dr Phillips speaks on stress and how we respond in different degrees of anxiousness depending on the severity. She helps normalize anxiety and explains how we can choose to pray differently and effectively. She discusses how anxiety can get in the way of our prayer and how we can have confidence and comfort knowing that God knows what we need before we ever ask. How we can turn our prayers and focus on how powerful God is.
5. FORGIVING WHAT WE CAN’T FORGET, Lysa TerKeurst
Lysa discusses the importance of forgiveness and how it is not for the person who has wronged us or hurt us. She talks about the freedom in forgiveness whether or not our situation changes. How letting go of the hurt makes room for God to live in our hearts and feel a peace that only He can give.
